End of Deadline for In Rem Restitution

The deadline concerning applications for restitution with the Arbitration Panel for In Rem Restitution ended on December 31, 2009 for property (movable assets of a Jewish Community Organization) owned by one of the following Austrian provinces and municipalities on the cut off day, 17 January 2001: Burgenland, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Vorarlberg, Vienna, Bad Ischl, Grieskirchen, Kobersdorf, Korneuburg, Mattersburg, Oberwart, Purkersdorf, Vöcklabruck or Wiener Neudorf. Applications for restitution of property owned by Lower Austria or Frauenkirchen are still possible.

An application was considered to be filed on time, if the application form reached the postal address of the General Settlement Fund on that day or if the postal item including the application form had the post mark of that day. Further more an application was considered to be filed on time, if the application was sent by fax or email until December 31, 2009 the latest. In these cases the original application form had to be filed subsequently as soon as possible.

Applications could also be filed personally at the porter at the General Settlement Fund's office address at the following times:

28.–29.12.2009: 8.00–17.00
30.12.2009: 7:00–12:00
